One of the first decisions to make when planning a session is choosing the location. The setting sets the mood, creates the backdrop, and helps tell your story. But how do you know which one is right for you?

Here are a few things I guide my clients through:
1. Consider the Season
Fall brings golden leaves. Spring offers blooms and fresh colors. Summer sessions glow with warm light. Winter can be magical with snow or cozy indoor studio vibes.

2. Think About the Vibe You Want
Do you want timeless and elegant? Romantic and dreamy? Fun and candid? The location helps create that mood. Studios, open fields, city streets, or your own home all tell different stories.

3. Prioritize Comfort
If you have little ones, accessibility matters. Choosing a spot that’s easy to reach and comfortable makes the experience smoother for everyone.

4. Make It Personal
Locations tied to your story - like your home, a favorite park, or even where you had your first date - add meaning to your portraits.

5. Trust Your Photographer’s Eye
Lighting, backgrounds, and composition all play a role. I’ll guide you toward locations that not only look beautiful but also photograph beautifully.
✨ The perfect location isn’t just about the scenery - it’s about finding a backdrop that highlights your story.
