The first wedding of the season! Jackie and Tennant reached out to me after a good friend recommended my services and I am so glad they did. One of the most laid back and fun couples I have had the pleasure of working with! We first met for their beautiful sunrise engagement session on the beach and immediately I couldn't wait for their wedding day! Are they not the best looking couple you've ever seen?!

On April 30th 2022, they had the most beautiful wedding at one of my favorite venues, The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, also known as MOCA. This venue's great room has trees with dazzling twinkle lights that surround the dance floor, its absolutely breath-taking and brings a fun outdoor element to an indoor wedding. Back tracking to before the ceremony...the day started off with the ladies in their matching PJ sets at a hotel getting ready and the gentlemen at one of the groomsmen's airbnbs. I hungout with the ladies while my second shooter, Ashlee, was with the guys! Fun fact, the groom and his family/friends are from Ireland, so you can imagine how much fun they were!

Jackie wanted a first look with her dad and her groom. Each was so special. Her dad gifted her with a beautiful pair of earrings for her to wear for her big day, which she quoted after receiving them, "you must've known I was just going to wear some target earrings."

We were able to get all of the family, bridal party, and couple's photos out of the way before the ceremony which meant the couple had more time to party and hangout with their loved ones afterwards! It was a cloudy day but at least it wasn't raining!

Their ceremony was short and so sweet. Taking place in the beautiful atrium with so many windows behind them filtering in some soft light. Even though they shared a first look, I'm pretty sure I saw Tennant almost shed a tear as Jackie was walking down the isle. Their love just radiates!

After the ceremony was over, cocktail hour commenced until dinner was ready to be served. Before sitting down to eat, the couple had their first dance as well as their father-daughter and mother-son dances. Followed by dinner and then cake cutting. Cake was made by Twisted Sisters Cupcakes and it was delicious!

After the cake cutting, the couple had a very special surprise for their guests. A baby and gender reveal! The couple announced they were pregnant with a baby boy and it was so special! I love moments like this and being able to capture them, especially everyone's raw reactions! They are going to have the cutest baby boy and I am so excited for them!

Now, the only thing left to do was PARTY! I've never seen such a packed dance floor before, everyone was out there having a good time and celebrating with the couple! We finished the night with a final glowstick dance and overall it was the perfect day!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. McVea!
